A few months back when i took the overhead parcel trays out of my Prevost H345, I thought the wiring had to do with the overhead TV monitors, stereo speakers and reading lights. Now, I'm trying to start the engine and it acts like a car that is not in Park. The ignition will turn on, I get the low air alarm, but not a flicker when I hit the starter. Also, the gauges don't come up and I can't get any indication as to what gear my Allison trans is in. I have to assume that it is in neutral because that's where I put it when I parked the bus there.
I have not been able to find a wiring schematic on the Prevost website. My owner's manual doesn't have this either.
Any thoughts, anyone?

I thought that Prevost were good in providing online schematics etc for a vin number.
Get a push button starter remote and hook it to the starter. That way you can make sure it is not the starter or ground out jump it with a large screw driver. The wiring up that high in the bins area is generally just the overhead lights and monitors etc. Other stuff goes down a center tunnel or in the lower ceiling in the bins.
use last letter in your serial number---plus last 4 digits. Example mine is W-6553 W=year and 6553 is unit number. If you wish to provide I will get you more info. Is your master switch on? park brake on. rear start off/on? basic we all have missed at one time or another.

They are VERY good. I've downloaded the schematics for my bus. But Prevost has done one better for me. They have an arrangement called "Prevost PASS." I didn't know about this. But it stands for "Prevost Active Service System." It's a free service to any Prevost owner regardless of the year of your coach. My coach is a 1998. A guy named Rick helped me sort through this problem for a couple of hours. We texted photos back and forth while talking and in the end, sure enough... I had cut through some vital wiring when I took out the parcel shelves. Fortunately, Prevost wiring is all numbered instead of using a lot of different colors. So now, I simply need to get enough wire that is the correct gauge and run it from back to front. I will find the "G1" wire in the back and run a new wire to the "G1" wire in the front. Lather, rinse, repeat. Here is another little bit of info I didn't know. Rick told me that Prevost wiring is all black for ground, all red for 12V and all yellow for 24V. That's really good to know.
I asked why in the world Prevost would run such important wires along the same path as the sound system, lights and video controls in the parcel trays. Rick said that there are several other tubes that run under the floor from back to front but they are absolutely stuffed with wires. Prevost just didn't have any more room and so, they went upstairs.

Yes, I had already learned about that when I first got the bus. My number is W-2115.

there are approx 5 spares that run from fjb to rear jb--- gray in color labeled sp-1 etc. been there on this one mine were burned into(fire) just ahead of drive axle. I printed out the whole set of wiring diagrams prob 25 pages... You got a smile from me on this one----lots of unused wires in system that dead end on both ends. I bet you can reply to next guy on this one!!!!
Ahh, I feel for you. I have an older 1980 Prevost and just went though my first wiring adventure. I needed a reverse indication for a 360 degree camera system and all the reverse wiring is in the back of the bus.
In the spare wires section of the electrical diagrams I found a spare that went from the back to the front panel.
However was unable to locate any of the spares that supposedly went from the front panel to under the dash, so wound up putting a bright light behind the dash at night to find a path to poke a coat hanger through to drag a wire down to the front electrical panel.
You should have one of these in your tool box. Best thing since sliced bread. Well, almost...

I purchased one there, not this same unit. However it gives me lots of false positives from cross talk in the wiring bundles.
Do it with no power to any wires. Shut batteries off etc. otherwise it will read all over the place.

Actually, yellow is 12V and red is 24v. See table from Prevost Service Manual.
Well, in that case, it would be a simple matter of measuring with a volt/ohm meter just to be sure. Thank you for the heads up, Denis. I could've gotten myself into even more trouble if you hadn't said something - something I don't need.
All this talk about wiring and such. I have some mice and pack rats that can find the hardest wires to get to and chew them up.
Now the little bastards chewed through the steering column rubber boots to get in and chewed on some dash wiring.
If you look at the batt cables, you should see red tape on the cable at the end of the pack (24V) and yellow tape for the center tap cable.
On newer coach the cables are color coded.
You would also see red and yellow tape on the cables bolted to the Vanner equalizer.

or snake---By the way they do air lines also--Made so good with the addition of soybean oil in 90's to date--a( Unnamed Country) better Idea. The PVC (made with cynaide ) was causing cancer in little fellows. Only thing you can do is seal her up best you can and use all the tools to stop you can. Add to Prevost color blue is 110 V White is 110/120 ground. Add black with white stripe as chassis ground source-= Sorry about rattling today-Electric is one of the most time consume things. 2nd by air lines (don't like push fittings at all) My bad attitude for awhile --- probably.
We use dry sheets and it keeps them away. I just throw a few around and down in the bays too. All dry foods are in sealed glass jars that can be or it comes off the bus.
