We are at bus rally in Clio, MI. We are trying to find the diagnostic connector on a fellow new to him, bus. It is a 1996 MCI 12. We think it has a DDEC 3. Does anyone know where the DDL is located?
Bill
Did you check in the roof of the third baggage bin? Some electrical boxes there?
Crazy stuff was going on in the minds at MCI...
And empty your voice mail, it's full...

Should be one in the front bay drivers side where all the AC breakers are located
They found it.
Typical bus rally, they were at dinner, and went straight back and went looking.
If you want anything fixed, attend a rally near you, lots of help available!

Thanks for the replies. Found it in the 3rd bay ceiling. We stopped looking so it also might be with the breakers.
I have two, one in the third bay near all the Allison tech. One just under the drivers seat which I have conveniently permanently plugged in a dlink into which snakes it's way up to the dash where it is connected permanently to my laptop so I can view DDEC II stats in real-time. Cool to have.
We checked the codes. It had a code 53, write failure of EEPROM. Check engine light is on mostly constantly.
Trouble shooting book said to replace ECU. Does anyone know of a DDEC III computer that is set for a 6V92 right hand, 350HP that would be available for sale ? What about one that could be reprogrammed ?
One more question. Does anyone know of a reputable facility that really repairs Detroit ECUs - not just cleans and MAYBE reprograms ? (A friend went to one of these "repair shops", and observed that they only had computers to reprogram, no physical repair benches.)
