Had to stop. Traveling on US 287 through Clarendon TX a new Allsups at 805 W 2nd St. with high volume truck pumps had diesel last Saturday for $2.48 credit price. The place was packed with big rigs and RV's. I bought 220 gallons.
Figured it was worth posting since lots of folks use that route to get to Colorado. Probably won't last too long at that price. Just down the road at Childress it was $2.99

Diesel here in the AZ valley is $2.58 to $2.77 cash or credit the $2.58 is mostly 10% bio diesel
I filled up for $2.52 near Wilmington, NC, on Wednesday. The big gap between diesel and gasoline has been falling around here (except at big truck stops like TA, Pilot etc. -- diesel there is about 60 - 70 cents per gallon more than at nearby stations in NC, SC, and VA; I drove through PA on Thursday, diesel there is approx. $1 more than in NC.)
They've been saying for years that the reason that diesel in the US is so expensive (since, it is, afterall, a byproduct of making gasoline) is that there's great demand for it in other countries. Since the global economy is slowing down, it may be that there is less of US refined diesel being sent overseas. But maybe it's just the market, overall.
Pa. gas and diesel is one of the highest in the country, since they really jacked it up a couple of years ago to repair all our highways, and especially bridges. We have something like 10,000 of them. Don't like the price, but at least seeing results in more paving and bridge replacements. Other states are jacking their fuel prices also. Ohio and Indiana just did. 74.1 tax per gallon for diesel and 57.8 on gasoline as of Jan 1, 2019. At that time we were first in nation; California was 2nd. Since then, I believe, Ca. raised theirs again to regain the top spot.
Here in the Toronto area...
$1.15 CDN$ per litre
X 3.78 makes $4.347 CDN$ per US gallon
รท exchange of roughly $1.35 (exchange recently on a VISA online purchase, not those magical numbers that get published every day, everyone gets to take their cut...)
Makes our diesel here about $3.22 US dollars per US gallon, for a straight comparison.
Or $0.85 US$ per litre doing the math the other way.
Taxes, exchange rates, transportation costs from refinery, someone's latest tweet... up and down like a toilet seat in a public washroom...
All fibs, charge what you can come up with an excuse for.
Are we going to stop buying?
Not me.
Happy coaching!

For every barrel of crude you get x amount of diesel and y amount of gasoline, so the amount of one being used will affect the price of the other. More diesel being used will make the price of diesel go up and gas to go down. Etc.
Jim
Our exports keep the price of fuel up other countries are lagging in low Sulphur diesel production,Mexico sends their products here to refine the low Sulphur fuel, the Alon refinery (Israel owned) in Big Spring Tx about all their fuel production goes to Mexico last I heard Mexico is 5 years away from producing low Sulphur diesel
I just paid $4.00 a gal in Ventura, Ca.----but then you don't have the Bullet Train. Wait a minute, we don't either????? Jack

HUH!!
Here in Vancouver BC we are the highest in N.America. :(
A remote automated 24/7 pump next to their tanks in Alaska. Was really glad we only needed regular gas for the toad. Thankfully the bus was in a campsite back in minimal civilization... 8)
Filled up in Indian Trail, NC just east of Charlotte for $2.40 last week. ;D

Funny, I don't see the long handle with the ball on the end in the picture.
Ouch. Guess bicycles and moccasins are big sellers 'round those parts.
Diesel this weekend at the Costco and Sam's Club at the north end of Kansas city was only $2.29 a gallon. We filled at Costco on the way south, but on the way back Sam's Club was closed at the time we went through going north. We had to pay $2.59 a gallon elsewhere.
We drove through PA last weekend and noticed how high the diesel was. Most small stations ranged from $3.15 to $3.49/gallon.
Pa. now has the second or third highest fuel taxes in the country. Because we have something like 10,000 bridges that need replaced plus the usual road deterioration. A lot of it from frost heaving and too long neglect. I don't like the high gas taxes, but am seeing results just in the last two or three years. More states are starting to hike theirs for the same reasons. It's tough for legislatures to deal with it due to the likelyhood of not getting re- elected.
I filled up at Costco in Downey, Ca for $3.45/gal. Even that isn't that bad when you consider Diesel was $1.65/gal in 2002. Good Luck, TomC
How's the price of fuel now?

Safeway $4.19 debit card
Dawnnoo what's goin on with y'all but I paid $2.58 in S. Carolina on Thursday. Only 12 gallons to fill my TDI but I figger if I buy from the cheapest guy is all goes to push the competition along.
I bought diesel in Elizabethton tn for 2:58 a gallon on the way home from Blytheville.
I never buy diesel in NC.
uncle ned
Hi Ned, I try to avoid it. I live near Durham but since I get 750 - 850 miles per tank, I can often edge off to S. Carolina. TN is a long way from me. Virginia used to be noticeably lower than NC but since Flying J got bought out, the price advantage seems to have gone away.
Also, review fuel taxes. Several states have recently jacked it up. There are a couple of sites for this info and also a couple that report where fuel is the cheapest.
