Hi I have a 97 DL with a Ddec IV series 60 have a 2003 series 60 EGR motor with 150,000 miles should I leave it a EGR motor or converted back to a non-EGR motor both are ddec IV thanks Randy
Are you sure about the 97 being DDEC IV?
I always remembered it as still DDEC III?
If the chassis is EGR exempt, that's what i'd do.
Straying from the rules is going to hurt, when they regulate....
Happy coaching!

Was a reliable built in 06 and updated to with a ddec IV ecm
I have a 2000 60 series with ddec IV. pre egr. should tell you on valve cover. All I know any thing after that is prob a egr engine (known to burn more fuel ) and alot more complicated. I know there is a differance in turbo and sensors. Will look for a more definite answer for you.. there is a differance in ar ratio in egr engines. Bob
2003 EGR should be DDEC V
Don't worry about the EGR have somebody set the regeneration at 3000 rpm it will never see 3000 rpm and Boomer is correct the 2003 should be a DDEC V some early ones were IV on 12.7
Just checked this morning both motors are definitely D decIV
Are you Randy from Wisconsin with the series 60 in an MCI? Coming to Clio on August 14 if you are?
Yes that's me Bill that's my kids DL I'm working on right now
Randy
With a handle like that and 5302 I figured it had to be you. I know it is a long way for you but hope to see you in Clio. May be the last one according to Marty.
