Title: "Professional" Bus Driver
Post by: pabusnut on August 05, 2019, 02:15:05 PM
Gives new meaning to "being thrown under the bus"

Can't say I haven't considered it for my kids--Ha Ha!!

We were on a bus tour through Mexico 30ish years ago.  The buses had team drivers and one of them slept in the baggage bay while the other drove.  They had a little sleeping area separated from the rest of the baggage bay, directly behind the steer tires.

They still do.   Even some of the new buses there have a little window in the first bay door on the right side.   I wonder what happens if he needs to pee (or more) while the bus is moving?

How was this driver able to get this person into that compartment let alone close it?
There must be more to this story but it sounds like this driver just had enough of some sort of bad behavior but still no excuse for her to lock her in there.

It simply might have been an oversight by the driver who closed the doors and did not see the passenger. That person might have been deep inside the bay and blended in with the bags. The fact that the driver was still on the bus as a passenger would make it hard to believe that she intentionally did anything and then was callous enough to not say or do anything that would get the other driver in trouble as well.

After investigating, the cops charged her...

Passengers climb in there after their crap... why is your crap in the bag underneath?

Do you go to the hold in an airplane?

There's a schedule to keep, you get to ride down there, the other passengers probably appreciated it...

Completely different cross section of society ride the bus...

And so are the drivers...

Or she was drunk or on drugs and fell asleep without the driver being aware that she crawled in there now that you brought it up from that perspective.

I'd like to say that this same thought hasn't crossed my mind, over the years. I drove for the same company for 18 years and for the most part, all my guests were easy to work with, but there's always a few!!!!!

Line run vs charter

Night vs day

Good vs evil

Incarcerated vs free

No credentials needed to travel, tickets still available for cash

The line run bus is the cursed last bastion of freedom, warts, mental illness and all...

The other modes may be more civilised, but our movement has been marked, tracked and recorded.

Who are the crazy ones?

Wondered what the consequences would be in by CA DMV (https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/dl/driversafety/scertend_guideline#two_1). Good thing we busnuts don't need a CDL with endorsements; at least I'd be banned for a lifetime. LOL
