Title: Batteries
Post by: chessie4905 on June 26, 2019, 09:40:44 AM
I wonder how many newer conversion owners realize that they need to regularly check and replenish battery water. Made me think of this after a Face book post of someones batteries hot and gassing. They assumed it was voltage regulator issues.

As long as you're not over volting the batteries, AGM batteries never need checking-nor can they be checked since they are sealed. My last set of 2-8D Lifeline deep cycle batteries lasted 7 years. They have a 5 year warranty. And in that 7 years, I did virtually nothing to them. Good Luck, TomC

Agms' are great if you can afford them and they don't  melt down.

Lol oh yea they melt down I have 6-8D'S to prove that and it's the second time around for me.now the AGM's have to be mounted with space around the batteries and in a vented area since I raised so much hell with LifeLine

Cliff, You running Lifelines? Have 3 side by side, have room for 6 in the battery bay and those puppies have been in there for 5 years. Bought Chinese p"s os and those wouldn't even hold a charge and would have cost more to sue than it was worth. Had watered *d's before and if you watched them okay.

I like LifeLine but they are not perfect one thing I don't like is paying for the 5 year warranty they sell the same battery for solar use for 100 bucks cheaper with a 2 year warranty, any type battery can have a thermal runaway once it starts what ever is in the bank is gone it has happen to me twice in the AZ heat plus charging from the engine.I am not the only one it has happen too
