I had sent a check to the Ohio Museum hoping to get a copy of the final vehicle build record for our bus. They used to be able to provide them for a donation to the museum.
Today I received my check back with a note stating they no longer had access to these records. They did not know any other source for the information.
Any suggestions on where the information went?
So apparently there was a volunteer at the museum in Ohio that had access to the final build records on microfiche. He died recently, and since then there has been no record of where the microfiche went with the records.
I had been hoping to get the build sheet for my coach, since it details what equipment and options were installed at the factory. It was my thought that then I'd know which of the various wiring diagrams were more likely to be accurate to our specific coach.
If anyone should hear anything regarding these records I'd appreciate a heads up.

To do what?
The microfiche could be anywhere. I imagine it disappeared as his family was working through all the things he had gathered through his life.
My hope is that they surface at some point in the future.
I assume you are referring to The Ohio Museum of Transportation, in Toledo. They are still listing this service on their website. Seems like somebody should have some knowledge of where the records are. The family of the gentleman that died should be notified before this information is inadvertently thrown out, if that is where they are located.

Yes - that is the museum I'm talking about.
I saw the website you're looking at. I sent them a check with a nice letter, just like their website instructs. I got a hand written note back from them that the person who had access passed away, and that they had no knowledge of where the records are.
Someone on BGM thought that Stan (in MN) might know where they went. I bought my first bus from Stan's brother Dan, so I made contact. That's where I learned that the records were on microfiche and their whereabouts were unknown.
Between the folks at the museum and the other bus guys involved, I have to assume that contact has already been made with the family.
How they disappeared I do not know. If they are truly lost it is a great loss to the bus world, although I have difficult believing that there was only one copy of the microfiche and that the guy who had it didn't make anyone else aware of the location of the records.
I have hopes that they will surface, but I'm not going to put money on it happening anytime soon. Perhaps someone in the bus world will have more information on this, which is why I'm posting on the various sites about it.

Oh - I thought your comment was in the context of searching for the records. Of course I'd like to visit the museum next time we're passing through Ohio.
I wish you luck but usually the relatives come in and clean house. Often involving a large dumpster, throwing away all that "old junk". Nobody is going to admit to throwing away anything valuable. Still a chance but it's a slim one.
