Title: Driveshaft issues MCI 9 repower
Post by: RickB on April 30, 2019, 11:33:43 AM

I have a female to female connection happening on my repower. I'm guessing I need to take the splined male yoke off of my old transmission.
Thoughts?

Or get the other end of the driveshaft that came on your transmission, probably.  You are putting an 8V92 in place of a 8v71, yes?  What gearbox was behind your 8V-71?  If not the same as the one you are putting in, the driveshaft may be a different length.

I'm switching from an 8v71 with a 754 CR to an 8v92 with a 740. I have the differential yoke from the donor bus (a 102) being sent up. Sure hoping this fits as my old transmission is 7" longer but there are lots of 9's and 102's with 8v92's and 740's. I'm cautiously optimistic
