Gentlemen, I need to find wheel bearings, seals, and brake shoes for my old 1976 Flxible Transit converted Bus with that sweet 871 and Alison Trans. my parts book doesn't have any part numbers for those parts. i don't want to dismantle it, until i know i have the parts needed to fix it and "Get back on the road again" I have searched the Net but can't find what I need, and I would prefer more than one option, because I don't want to get ripped off.

take them to a NAPA heavy store or O reilly's they can look it up and have it or find it for you. There is generally a number stamped on them too.
Several years back, I dismantled a transit Flxible. It had a 6V-71. The front brakes, shoes, hubs and drums were the same as a 4104, 4108, and 4905. You can get the bearing ND seal numbers off the old parts. They are stamped or engraved on them.

He was in a purple 4106 and said it was the original Willie Tour bus.

Thanks to All the good advice, I didn't want to disable the bus, it's at a storage facility in Orlando Fl. They are pretty strict, seeing that I'm surrounded by $500,000 plus stick and staples, I don't think they will want my old bus, jacked up on blocks, and might want me to leave. That is why I was hoping to find an idea or two, on how to go about finding rare old parts. I may not need Bearings or Brake shoes, but I know I'll need at least 2 seals. 1 in front 1 in the rear. I almost sold my bus to keep from tackling this project, but after looking at lots of junk for sale, I decided to keep mine. I love that 871 Detroit. it has 80 pounds of oil pressure, once it warms up. I have owned this old darling for 15 years, most of that time it's been parked, which isn't good, I have learned the hard way. This time when I get it back together, I plan on going Full Time, all over Florida, then to other parts of this wonderful USA.
