I have just installed a Remanufactured 6v92 in my MCI 9 and I added a temp gauge and an hour meter along side the engine. My question is where is the best place to pick up power for the hour meter?
I would grab power from the Blower Discharge and Cut-in relay, because it's only on when the alternator is generating power. You can grab that on stud 2 in the rear engine compartment electrical bay. That way the hour meter will only run when the engine is actually running, rather than any time the main power switch is on.
