The wheel studs on my DINA are not the usual style used on most trucks. They are hard to find and expensive. Any ideas for a source other than MCI that isn't as expensive? I currently have one broken stud on each of my tag wheels and really should replace them. I should probably replace all 20 to be safe.
A Euclid wheel stud catalog or equiv. with all the dimensions and pictures should be helpful, unless it is really odd.
It is basically a threaded stud with a rectangular plate welded to the end. Nothing in the Euclid catalog looks similar. Unfortunately, I do not have a broken one to take a picture of. One of the tire shops I was at took a broken stud out to try and find a replacement, but no idea what happened to the broken one. I can't recall if they gave it to me or not.
Are they the same as what Dina put on their equipment down south?
Maybe a Mexican connection to fresh studs?

The stud below and above the broken stud should be replaced also they usually have damage ,common practice is to replace the 3 FWIW and MCI is proud of the studs
How much are they? I recall that studs for other coaches are expensive now also.
I can't remember exactly, but somewhere between $20 and $40 each. I would likely replace all 20 studs on the tag axle so it adds up quickly.
It wouldn't hurt to try Luke.
I had a thought this morning that maybe MCI G4500 studs would work, but no luck finding studs listed anywhere online for MCI G4500 studs. I could probably call Fleetpride or something and see if they have anything.
I found some old notes and it appears that MCI part numbers 15L-3-20 and 15L-3-21 might have previously been used on my bus. Those appear to be MCI part numbers and not the number format used for DINA parts so that is why I thought they might be for an MCI F3500 or G4500. I called MCI parts and they have the parts, but they can't tell me what bus they are for.
I don't think the MCI part numbers I listed are correct. It appears they are for a 102DL3. I found a photo of one and it doesn't look anything like my studs.
I thought I got the part numbers off an invoice for repairs from years ago, but I'll have to see if I can find the invoice again.
Hi Brian, I got mine from Traction truck parts, they ended up coming from Euclid, but when he was looking it up, I saw other parts companies, lvmci...

Did you get wheel studs for a DINA, or for an MCI?
I talked to Luke yesterday and he called me back late in the day yesterday. He said that a 1995 DINA should have come with hub piloted wheels and those are the studs he came up with. I told him I definitely have stud piloted as the the threads are different on the two sides, plus I have the bevels in the wheels along with the Budd nuts on the duals. Luke thinks maybe somebody did some sort of home brew swap of the studs, but he is going to do more checking for me.
Dina's came with both style wheels just like a MCI they can be stud or hub pilot. The school here Dina had stud pilot wheels too
Hi Brian, no for the 102C3 MCI, but there were a few sources to get them...tom...
It looks like Traction Truck Parts is only in Canada, correct? There are a few truck parts places here, but I don't necessarily want to tie them up looking for a unicorn part.
IIRC, Traction is the heavy arm of NAPA here in Canada??
They belong to someone...
Let's 'em be free to position themselves differently in our smaller market
Anyone else remember?
