Just don't eat the packets! :P :o
I think you can put a cracker or two.
The southern thing is a table spoon of dry rice in every container.
Ditto on using rice, works best, non-toxic and doesn't crumble like crackers. doesn't take much either, works great in salt shakers too

uhmmm. who wants (un)cooked rice in their Montreal steak seasoning, chili powder or oregano ?
Decades living in the south and I got used to seeing rice in salt shakers everywhere. It generally stays put in the container since the holes in the lid are too small.
Using rice in spice containers would be more problematic though, because the holes in the shaker lids are much larger, often large enough for the rice to come through.
If the desiccant packs are not going to work for you, then perhaps you just need to get containers for the spices that are moisture proof.
Why is this in the bus discussion forum? Off topic, any other forum, maybe the Betty Crocker forum, but here? 🙄
Because the problem occurred on a bus with higher humidity. :o
Empty teabag, insert rice seal and insert in spice bottle,s

would take huge grains of rice for everything but salt or pepper.
i need some of those for my Parmesan cheese....
The nice thing is if you want rice to eat you know where to get it from and it comes in many flavors, LOL
sorry, I was posting on my phone and since tapatalk was taken away, it's not as easy for me to post via phone.
BTW, I googled search and seems like the winner is putting raw beans in the spice shakers b/c they absorb the humidity like rice but won't fall thru the holes of the shaker.
Yes, I posted it in here b/c we went camping and all my spices are caked up so I figured if anyone would know, it would be yall.
Can you talk to your phone to post instead of texting? Most of the current ones can.
Sounds like you need shakers with smaller holes, LOL :)
If you use mexican jumping beans, they'll keep it from caking, and will keep it mixed up.
This is a perfectly good topic for a bus forum, IMHO. Living in southeast Florida, I know this is a problem when one keeps spices stored in the bus galley. An expensive solution is to keep the A/C running 24-7 to combat the humidity. Rice is less expensive; I like the teabag idea because on spices other than salt and pepper (oregano, basil, etc.) the shaker holes are bigger. Not so sure about those dessicant bags as some might not be safe for contact with foods.
