Title: MAK editorial in Feb 2007
Post by: H3Jim on February 11, 2007, 10:52:51 AM
Mike, in the first sentence, did you mean to say "stop procrastinating" ?  What got into print was to "stop procreating".  Maybe I should stop putting off these pesky projects, but as long as I can, I intend to keep procreating, or at least practicing....

LOL SURELY he isn't joining the 'no popluation growth' movement?

Is MAK turning 'green'?

Granola and Birkenstocks now rather than t-bones and work boots?

I haven't seen the latest issue yet, but now I gotta run to the mailbox.

After all this time by now I think we have acknowledged that we would rather have scant proofreading than increased subscription rates, no? :)

We just noticed that today.  Maybe he was telling us to stop f*&%ing around...in a politically correct manner. :)

I think Ross had it right because the rest of the editorial is about using your bus.

Birkenstocks? Geeze, I saw my wife's brother in law wear those once with his speedo, I should said that again, "my wife's brother in law"!  Thank God for Wolverines, and prime rib!  Pat

I'm going to take Mikes advise----- just use the buss, so while taking the seats out Sat. took one from left side put it on the right opened it up alittle put table between perfect for the dinette. Same on other side opened up little wider a piece of plywood, matress will do for the bed. Bathroom still works in emergency. Not all the comforts of home but it will do. Thinking will fill up the belly of the beastey head down to the flywheeler grounds and do some swapping and trading, buy and selling just for fun. While on that subject what to ask for the seats, nice out of the 97 prevost.

Are you talking about the Florida Flywheelers between Ft. Meade and Avon Park, FLorida?  There are about 10 or 12 buses going into the Flywheelers on next Sunday and Monday.  Be sure to look us up. We should be park out near the vendors gate.  Jack

Jack, the very one, when we started that swap meet in Orlando at the fair grounds about 20 years ago I started taking some of the old cast iron stuffffff to s.t.b.s. It seems that I have a never ending suppy 2 junkyards in Fla. 1 in Ga. heehheeee. Sooo I need to go got to get some gone. Don't know if I would fit in with the old gang more likly be better in the bottom if I get to go. May have to wait untill the Tallahassee show/swapmeet(what a samless plug) just enjoy it much better. Even that has a conflict, sons wedding in Jacksonville yada, yada, yada.

Jack, when we were at Flywheelers in January, Leonard was with us and the folks at the gate were giving a hard time to him for coming in at the vendor's gate and not being a vendor.  Might be a problem camping in that area now for some reason unknown to me.

Might be. When we held the rally there in November, everything was set up for us to use that gate. In January we only went up for the day and they are now using that gate for golf carts. We joined the Flywheelers and plan to be exhibitors at the February Show.  Jack

They made us pay vendor rates and park in the vendors area, $70 for 3 days.
( the very same area we park at for the rallies ). Funny some of the people out there
had power and we didn't and they paid the same or less.

There was actually no way to actually park in the camping areas as they were full and too tight of an area
to park anyway besides we would have had to be there a week earlier to get a spot.

Flywheelers is about the most disorganized group there is when it comes to consistency on prices
to get in.. You can't get the same story twice or the same prices..

I think Leonard and Norman are going but I am too broke to waste another $200 going this time around.

Dave....

All the problems menchaned, plus I carried three of my swapmeet trailers with hit/miss engines and related stuff down there (this was after the voting majority was just people looking for a place to camp in the sun) no place left for us. Just quit going, had high hopes that things had changed, don't sound like it has. So will see you later some place else.
