Title: Road Trip Stats
Post by: Melbo on August 04, 2018, 06:12:35 PM
We just got done putting 4782 miles on the coach and 115 hours on the generator.  We burned 671.5 gallons of diesel and used about a gallon of oil.

The only major problem we had was the stereo amplifier took a break.

The minor problem was a new cabinet door wanted to vibrate so I had to put a latch on it.

Other than those two situations the trip was flawless.

Gotta love it when a plan comes together.

That's some pretty decent fuel mileage. I'm envious  :o  :D

I ran the numbers, and if I am correct Melbo got 7.1 mpg.  I get 8 mpg with my 350HP 6V92TA.  Melbo, do you know what your HP is?

I have a 270 hp L10 Cummins.  I get mid 7 mpg.  All that diesel also ran the generator so we could keep the AC going.  Gotta love the right lane on the interstate and we drive a lot of two lane highways just to see the sights.

We typically cruise about 65 or so.

I figure my mileage is real close to 5MPG at 65 or so on the highway with a toad. It took 33 gals to top it up after a 156 mile trip last time. Mileage was done with GPS so I know it's really close to reality. 445HP 892. I'm old school and always top up the tank before reaching destination so there's no room for condensation.
