Title: Exterior vents under windows??
Post by: OKIE9ERS on August 04, 2018, 12:11:38 PM
In the process of removing interior skin...the fresh air vents that were part of the bus air...look like a water issue. Not using bus air...what do we do with these when converting? Block em somehow? Leave em alone?
Thanks!!

You have decommissioned the entire coach HVAC system?

No need for 'em, seal them up.

If you are keeping the coach heat, i'd leave 'em properly functioning for fresh air and humidity control in the cooler weather.

Just the defrost/heat up front will be left alone...
How to seal that up without removing/replacing exterior panel..?
Also has this box inside thats riveted to exterior panel

I would clean the grate up, prepare for painting while still open, or you'll get rust streaks later... good primer...
plate it from the inside, use one of the permanent sealing/structural caulks to seal it, held tightly and a few high quality rivets from outside.

Paint and done.

You don't want that ever leaking again...

Happy coaching!
