My 4905 has a V730 and does not use the spacer. Several years ago, I dismantled a Flxible city bus with 6V-71 and V730. It did not use a spacer either. The flywheel I have is 3 1/2 inches thick. The recess in the engine bell housing is 4 1/2 inches. Hope this helps.
