I noticed that a couple of posters are identified as "ignored" including Bobofthenorth(who I enjoy reading). How/why does this happen?
I must have been typing when I should have been reading. ;D
When a poster acts like an idiot, replies with an insensitive remark/s, hostile remarks to another poster, telling other posters like it is, full moon, or other reasons, other members can hit the ignore button to no longer see that person's posts. The person that activated the ignore button has to be the person that removes it. I wonder if some of those ignores are from person's that are no longer on the board. A few here have or had several ignores over the years.
In terms of how it happens, it happens when you (on purpose or by accident) click on the ignore button at the bottom left of the post by the guy you want to ignore. If you did it, you can undo it. Some people seem to collect them, I think I have two. If you aren't the one who did the ignoring, then it doesn't change how you see posts at all, so you can ignore the ignore... ;D
It is a button for personalty conflicts best I can tell , I don't use the feature myself even when a person pisses me off I don't have to read a post from that person I just pass over it.Now Bob I like to ignore him but only in person just kidding Bob
We've had some record holders in the past. Not so much anymore.Probably due to testosterone reduction as we age, at least to most of us.lol
I know some people get offended when they get ignored and leave, the BNO with the same soft ware doesn't have the feature

I'm only ignored by one person. I know who it was and why, and I'm very pleased about it all. ;D

Clifford, he went on a trip to the wild lands of Alaska with no Internet and his schoolie broke down. Gone forever.
There was a time that the Off Topic section was very political and roused lots of emotion. It was very common then for some to push the ignore button; maybe it helped that member feel empowered. That was somewhat understandable. Ignoring people on the main board though seems a bit silly, since you never know where a good idea will come from. It appears that my score has increased in the past year to six even though I really am not posting much and certainly none of it is controversial. It's a bit hard to figure why people would get so angry over mechanical opinions, but if it stops them from shooting up a mall--it's good.

I will think of it from that point of view.
And here I thought there might be something wrong with me :)
I ignored a few people just to see what happens - you see the post but it's blank. I'm too curious not to look to see what they might be saying. I un-ignored them because it was just a test.
Thanks.
You good to go again, Bothofthenorth> ;D ;D ;D ;D
WTF? I'm at zero. My time here has been totally wasted.

Im at one. The only one i can think of is that one schoolie bc i disagreed with having a bucket for a toilet.
Branderson. You were ignored by me. Took me a bit to figure it out, I guess I hit the button by accident. I am not offended by your posts. Raymond

Yep Lin that was where most of us got them. It was politics. And The other Jeremy that used to be here and is no more. we were all bantering and trying to figure out the world problems, LOL
It was Clifford's fault Aces, John316 , Eagle19952, other's, oh ya and Me,LOL ;D
Btw, what ever happened to Ace? He had the gold Prevost andlast I remember was painting the engine white.
Ace hangs out on F/B he still has the bus but also has a Super C truck conversion so the bus is going up for sale I guess
So he finally went up and got that white truck up in Minnesota? Or did that guy bring it down to him. ;D

Saw some post's concerning him a while back, and I believe he got the ax on a perm. bases!!! I don't this was the only site he got banned from!
The advent of social media being an outlet for impolite behaviour has benefited many of the traditional hobby boards.
Part of the evolution of keyboard communication?
Happy coaching!

Correct. He's Persona Non Grata at Skoolie, and maybe elsewhere. It's folk like him that make all us school bus owners look like idiots. If you're going to crap in a bucket, just don't tell the whole world about it. Good riddance.
John
I only have '3' ignores. I'll try to do better...or worse.....or more.....whatever.
