How would on get to the fuel tank sender on a 1991 Marathon Prevost. The tank lies in the middle of the coach runs front to back and seems to have metal around it. My fuel gauge reads 1/3 tank when full and does not change. If I am lucky it will the gauge, but I am suspecting the sending unit. any suggestions ?
Access to the sender is likely in the third bay, passenger side. If the bus has OTR there is likely a plate over the receiver tank. If it does not have OTR you might have to remove some Marathon installed panels.
Thanks, I pulled the cover fabric on the wall of the compartment, and found a smaller panel attached with screws with the fuel filler hose running thru the middle of this small panel. The access is complicated by the fact that a washer/dryer combo and its water lines run in front of this panel making it hard to remove all the screws, even with the combo removed. I think you sent me in the right direction. thanks again
On the 89 xl it was in condenser bay to top rear=access to top of tank plus fuel gauge hoses. I would make sure it has power to gauge before getting too adventurous. Back of gauge on dash should have 24V (key on) to it the other goes to gauge and fuel level is measured by resistance thru gauge to ground
go to prevost car.com. When as for bus info put in last letter in serial number plus last 4 digits Should be like mine is W-6553 tech manuals.
