Post by: SanyikaV on June 10, 2018, 06:46:16 PM
Where are the drains for the air tanks on  a 91 Prevost marathon located ?

The air tank drains are under the tanks. The Prevost tanks are located over the drive axle (wet and primary) and over the steer axle (secondary and accessory) and it is possible Marathon installed an accessory tank also possibly located in the steer compartment.

Thank you for your response. I had a washer/dryer combo installed there in the third bay passenger side, which I have removed for access, but the only thing I see is a metal cover riveted to the outer edge of the door compartment, by the edge of the door gasket, covers the floor, goes up to the top of the compartment, all riveted in. Is it possible that it only has a low warning fuel lite on the dash, and a fuel gauge for looks in the dash. Also does anyone know the capacity of these tanks. I traded for this 91 in Florida and drove it back to TN and stopped several times to fuel, not taking any chances.

There were tank options for that vintage. I believe the standard tank was 160 gallons, and there was an optional 90 gallon tank for long range fuel. It is likely you only have the standard tank.

Jon, Thanks for the info, I am trying to figure it all out and it seems like a monumental task.

Apologies if I intrude, but are you mixing up your fuel tank and air tank threads?  I'm confused.  Thanks,  BH

SanyikaV, There is not a bus owner on the face of the earth that was not overwhelmed when they had their first contact with a bus. I am approaching 30 years of ownership and doing all my own work and I am still in awe of how much there is to know. If you want Prevost specific articles, help, links, and resources register and participate on www.prevostcommunity.com (http://www.prevostcommunity.com)

We will be doing a seminar around mid October in Vonore TN about Prevost coaches. There will be at least 25 attendees and maybe more which to all who participate is you not only get a lot of information, links, knowledge and your questions answered, you can hook up with owners of your vintage coach and conversion so you have people with experience to communicate with.

Do not be afraid of asking questions.
