Im not sure why he felt the need to park the bus on the rotors to keep someone from stealing them, they didn't look to be a good set anyhow. Each front tire was holding down a a pair, they must be valuable rotors.
I wonder if he placed some coal in between the rotors and hoping the bus would create enough pressure to convert the coal into a diamond?
Just trying to stimulate some clever thought exchange. By the way this was in front of a steel fabrication shop, it is a Provost, rotors are being used to level the bus. Not sure I would have chosen this method, I would prefer a larger foot print, maybe rotors from a larger truck rather than from a geo metro. ha, ha
If he told you that is reason for bus sitting on rotors, go back and ask him directly? Makes absolutely no sense as a deterrent unless maybe the bus is on blocks all around, so a jack is needed to drive it off.
His crude version of flatstoppers maybe to prevent the tire from flat spotting
They had received some Chinese rotors that weren't perfectly flat. The instructions (in Chinglish) said "The rotors should be flat, bus in case they are not you must apply steady pressure to them." It's amazing what can happen from one simple typo.

Maybe it's an Eagle, and they're its sacrificial anodes to stop it rusting. Sorry, Gary.
John
Bahaaa!!! You got it.!
lol that is not a Eagle with those funky rubber fender flairs
MCI, same difference..
A Prevost not a MCI,lol you need to lighten up on Eagles they are good buses and don't use suspenders holding the engine up
Funny you should post this. This is where I hide my keys. ;D
They wouldn't dare with the rust.lol
Ah, maybe Eagles are too good to have their feet touching the ground while not turning. Did not catch these were a coach pedestal. You know them Eagle owners, just look up to catch a view of their noses.
Only the Prevost owners do that, although they use a good quality Berber carpet.
Looks to me like a leveling method.>>>Dan
Those are not rotors they are actually vented Land Mines. Do not move that Bus, ::) :o
Maybe those are the tops of hydraulic posts- it's a lift system.
I actually look forward to seeing what other people see and think of when they see a photo like this. I like the hydraulic lift concept, vented land mines, and a coating inspector the sacrificial anodes made me laugh.

"Life is too short to be serious about everything." Only three matter - mind, body, family/friends.
