Anyone looking for a new engine? Noticed this today.

They don't provide any real information like year of the engine, DDEC version, and engine size. The data plate is an important missing piece. I expect it will go for big bucks since it appears to be new or new remanufactured.
If they ordered the wrong engine why didn't they return it? This will probably end up costing they county $10,000 to $15,000 for a mistake that shouldn't have happened.
Reconditioned could mean a new paint job on the outside. Who knows what's inside or which one it is? Could be 11.1, 12.7 or 14 liter. What horsepower? Good Luck, TomC
You never know it could be a standard or premium series 60 the hp is not that big of a deal
I wonder if that engine is military surplus that the local government got as a freebie. That elaborate shipping and storage container is typical of military packaging. That could also explain why they did not return it.
If you can get a military surplus Series 60, grab it. It has NO smog devices on it. When I was at L.A. Freightliner, one of our military 3 axle tractors came in (Western Star cab [because it is steel] and Freightliner hood-we called it a Westliner). Series 60 no smog, Allison 4000 transmission, and a 450amp 24v alternator (our cost $5,500!). Yes that's one problem-military is 24v. Good Luck, TomC
It doesn't look to me to be military that is a Relibuilt shipping container I see it has a wastegate turbo
Same turbo I have on my 8V-71.
