I got my replacement motor from Amazon. First I had to track down the part number. The original number will be in the manual. You can call them and ask if there is a new or superceded number. I had to tell them that I was researching for my repair shop and they would order, since they don't sell parts to consumers. Once you have the part number it's easy.

My furnace was older, so I had to modify the mount on the new motor, but it worked out fine. I've got a thread on the repair somewhere on this site with pix.

The reason I didn't put amazon was because it was 126.00 compared to 84.00 on the site i put in there. ;D

I only mentioned Amazon because they had what I needed at a good price. If there are better prices elsewhere then I'd probably go that route as well.

Something interesting I learned about Amazon...If you put an item in your cart but don't buy it for a while, the price will often change, especially if you have done a few searches for similar items over a few days' time.

When accessing your cart days later, they will inform you that one of your items changed in price, not by how much or if it went up or down.

Yep we have Prime with free shipping right on most items. But when I check on a lot of things I have noticed a big difference in price that is higher on some things by a lot on prime. So they cover their shipping that way. Not all but a lot of things.

We like it for the free movies too. ;D

$400 is a good price for a new one. Personally-if the motor has failed-probably other components will also fail. Installing a complete new unit will give you best piece of mind.
My Atwood motor went out because I accidentally left the unit on with the propane turned off. Hence the fan ran for 2 weeks straight (plugged in)-needless to say the fan motor didn't like this. I was also going to just replace the motor, when I read that the new units have larger fans for quieter running. So I bought a complete new unit. And yes it was quieter and also now has an automatic shut down for the fan if no propane is detected after 2 minutes of running. Many reasons to buy a new unit. Good Luck, TomC

Hi guys, thanks for your thoughts, I'm on Austin, TX, sorry for the delay. Suburban told me that no fan was available and the model was outdated. I want to slip another into the existing frame shroud and not cut new holes thru the billboard wall. Saw the Arizona Salvage guys at Quartzsite, they told me they had many fan motors and whole rebuilt units, they didn't respond to my several messages and calls, after the 3rd call got someone, but neither was available. I will look into the info you provided, tom, lvmci...

Here's the thread on the repairs I did to my furnace.

It is an NT-32, which I imagine is similar to yours. As you can see in the photos, the exact motor is not available. However, there is a motor which superseded the one installed from the factory. The new motor was the same motor, but it had the brackets spot welded to the motor instead of using a clamp-on mount. I just used an angle grinder to surgically remove the welded-on mounts and then was able to use the original mount.

The repair was actually quite simple. There is really nothing to these old units.

****These old furnaces were subject to a recall years ago. It's my understanding that the recall was to replace the rubber cross-over tube with a metal one since the rubber ones were cracking and leaking CO into the passenger compartment. You might want to check to see if yours has had the recall correction done - you'll know if the rubber cross-over tube is now metal. If not, then you'll have to consider doing something about that. Since the recall part is no longer available, I replaced mine with a piece of high-temp silicon tubing. Pictures are in the thread I linked to above.

Let me know if you want more information about the parts I ordered to get mine repaired.
