Hey, Got a busted side window and not ready to do the RV windows yet... Need to get through work project... Headed down 81 towards Mayberry, NC or Charlotte sometime in the next few weeks. Could come pick it up...
Thanks ahead of time... :)
Easiest is to go to commercial glass company to get it replaced. There is a place on I-80 near Danville, Pa that has three or more MCI's. Don't know which model. Looks like they are being parted out. Also a place in Basset Virginia that has many of several brands used for sale, plus a very large area of busses for parts. Also, many used coaches on sides of local roads for sale. Easter's bus sales.
I just got off the phone with Don at Choo Choo Express Garage in Rossville, GA and he has several of these windows as well as tons of other MCI parts in stock. Give him a call at 423-645-7456 and tell him Bus Conversion Magazine sent you. He has lots of other bus parts he wants to liquidate as well as he is shutting down his shop after being rebuilding engines and buses for about 80 years.
Well, have to run down 81/77 to Mayberry NC over a long weekend, maybe able to get it in, Easter and Sawyer Kinda on the way, will check the Penn place, Ga is a long trip but have been known to take the scenic route, lol..will call around,. If the weather holds up may go this weekend... Thanks all
If Pabusnut chimes in, he may pinpoint exact location. It is on the right of West bound lanes (duh..., otherwise it would be in the medial strip) no more than 25 to 30 miles west of Danville, Pa. If you are observant, you can see the busses from the highway. If you use Google Earth, you can locate it from my info, and see which exit to take to access them. It may be closer... Google sky view shows what look like either busses or trailers where St Route 54 crosses I-80 in NE corner.
I looked them up and called the place nextdoor, It was Joe & Janes, but now it is a Truck repair place and supposedly the buses are gone....😣. Lol. Thanks.
Also called Don at Choo Choo, he had some but someone put a forklift fork through them, da-dang, but he gave me somebody else's number near him who was getting rid of bus stuff....ongoing...
I am about 1 1/2 hours off of I-81 in central VA. I have 14 tinted windows out of a 1987. My bus was a New Jersey Transit MC-9. Not sure if they will fit your bus. Somebody here may be able to answer that. You could have as many as you want. I just pulled the pins from the hinge at the top when I removed them from the bus.
Hey, Will be headed that way tonight That'd be great, all the MC9 side windows are interchangeable... Sending PM
Thanks,
In Mayberry!!!
Say hi. to Aunt Bee.
I did, and Goober.... :D
And if anybody know ake1994, would the mind telling him to check his messages...😀
Gotta head back tomorrow, and can swing by, or will miss the opportunity...

Didn't need scaffolding because since the snow was high enough to stand on....lol
