Title: safety switch
Post by: edvanland on February 15, 2018, 08:46:31 AM
any one know where the neutral safety switch is hiding on a Allison 740 trans. I have a MCI 7 with a 8V92 non electric
and can not start in neutral anymore from the front.

Ed,check the shift tower they are not always on the transmission I just changed that 65 dollar switch on the fire engine inside the shift tower piece of plastic crap.
If it is on the transmission it will be behind the shiftier linkage with 2 wires going to it,the switch on the opposite side is for the backup lights

Sometimes, neutral isn't neutral...

Finger holding start button in, gently move shifter ahead and behind neutral position, vroom when it finds the switch.

Happy coaching!
