I am thinking of using an induction cook plate instead of an induction cooktop in our 15. A little back ground the boss is a very good cook but when we are in the bus see does not cook that much ( that is fine with me as that is her down time also ) Rather than take up space with a cooktop we are thinking of using a plate.
The plate can be kept in a cabinet and uses 120 volt and not the 240 volt of a cooktop.
Do any of you have any thoughts on the cook plate? Do they work as good as the cooktops?

They require special pots and pans, which you probably know. Why not for space saving. Look one up on Amazon and read the ratings to see if any issues come up you hadn't thought of.
They work great Wayne that is what my cook has been using for 10 years,buy good ones the cheaper ones don't have a wide temperature range,wattage and features as the better ones,any cookware a magnet will stick to works even cast iron.Induction tea pots are nice too for fast hot water,if you have a hot tea drinker like my wife

I bought one when they got down to $100 as backup, I use it to deep fry outside mostly, but honestly it works great. Use it, wipe it off and put it back on the shelf, done. The higher wattage ones will blow a 15 amp breaker on high, they need a 20 amp 12 gauge wire outlet.

Costco has an induction hob with a pot included for $69. I use a commercial induction hob and it works great.

I dont recall the brand, but I had seen another conversion build, a coach on the schoolie site. What they used was the rectangular size and implemented into a slide out drawer x 2. It was a real class act setup she built.
As the time gets closer I would like build something similar.

Wayne a restaurant supply has good induction burners we use the Avanto IC1800 watts they won't blow a 15 amp breaker, I paid $190.00 each with shipping

They were for 49$ to start. I picked one up as the induction top I have for the bus is only a two burner unit 110V. If we ever have the need for an additional burner we are covered. Also if I want to cook something boiled (corn, lobster, etc.) I think I would prefer to do it outside. This gives me a quicker and easier option than firing up the grill.
