Title: How big can we resize our photo's now Phil with new MAK software?
Post by: Gary LaBombard on February 01, 2007, 06:47:33 AM
Phil,
How big do we have to resize our photo's for posting on this board now with the new software you have submitted for us to use?  Can you list what size the photos should be for (1)photo, (2)photo's, (3)photo's and of coarse (4) photos like I did today?  Now we know we can left click on them to make them bigger but we all want to post them as big as we can I know and perhaps left clicking will make each photo full size in our screens to enjoy.
Thanks for your help in this.
Gary

I would strongly usspect that the maximum size has not increased, but Nick's suggestion for Gary to test it is great!

Very funny Nick and Richard,
I made the photo's (540X405) and they posted alright but the MAK board made them (380X285) like it did on my other post earlier today.  But keeping them original (640X480) for 4 photos will not work. So making them (540 X 405) I believe is a good number if you guys don't mind letting this computer illeterate know for sure and maybe everyone will be able to make a notation someplace to remind them for posting in the future.
Thanks, had fun though

Attached at 640 x 480 and lowered resolution to get a 50 kb file size.
Wonder what it will post at.

The photos' will always post as a thumbnail now in order to make the pages load faster for those on dialup and other various slow connections.

Don't mistake file size for resolution or Physical size.. they are completely different things.

It really doesn't matter what physical size your picture is, as long as it is under the 128Kb limit imposed by the software.
You could upload a photograph of 24" X 48" or larger, As Long as it is smaller than 128Kb.

Gary and all,
If you want to enlarge the thumbnail, just click on it.
However if that is not large enough for you, just click on the little underlined link with the paper clip in the lower left corner of the photo.  camel spiders1.jpg That then opens the photo, at least on my computer, in Windows Pictures and Fax viewer. Then by using the thumb wheel on your mouse you can enlarge it as much as you want.

Let me know if it works for you.

richard,
Clicking on the paperclip on my computer made a nice large photo full screen size to view on my computer.  The thumb wheel trick did not do anything and clicking on just the photo enlarged it to half of this full screen size mentioned above, so if you want the full view, click on the paper clip and enjoy.

As always, thanks Richard, this was fun.

OK. Glad it worked. BTW, the thumbwheel only works in one direction for me.

As the old saying goes, "live and learn".  PS It took me a couple of times to accidentally discover this.
