Title: Need cruise control switch
Post by: Scott & Heather on November 06, 2017, 09:54:18 PM
So I've found and identified all the wires associated with the cruise control. I've labeled them also. I still need the resume/set switch. I know it's a bit special so I had called and spoken to San Caylor about it three weeks ago and he said he'd call me back....well, I turned gray while I was waiting, so if anyone knows where I can get the paddle cruise set/resume accel switch, I'd be so grateful. My wife is tiring of holding the throttle down for hours on end.

Can I even use those with my setup? I though the bus cruise switch had to be something special? I know the on off switch is normal but the resume/accel/set switch I thought was something unique on a DDEC II system?

Didn't know what you had for system. So this probably won't do you any good. There is also King Cruise out there.
Here's some info from past post.

They would most likely work....they apply intermittent connection when activating cruise/ coast/accel/decel. You'll need wiring diagrams to get it to work. Most cruise units activate with momentary application of desired button. Of course power to unit is  on/off

There is nothing special, The on and off is just a standard switch.  The Cruse and resume are just momentary on when pushed.

When they're pushed, is the signal a pos or a ground?  Is the signal standard across types of buses/cruise control designs??  Thanks,  BH

Are you looking for the set/resume switch that surface mounts to the dash or one which is on the end of a stalk (like on the turn signal stalk)?

You don't send anything but ground to the ECM

He is probably looking for the OEM switch to keep his dash original, you can make a dash look junky in hurry by adding switches.
I just replaced all my panels and switches at a cost on the D to keep the OEM look YMMD

My first call would've been to MCI. They are not always expensive. And some times, it is worth a little more to get the correct part.
