I have a Prevost and installed a set of big foot levelers three years ago. My levelers are one of the best items I added to my bus. I have had them for three years and the only regreat is that I did not have them of the first year I travelled.

Hi Rip
Did you do the install yourself on the Prevost or did you get it done at the factory?

I installed them myself. I was in Az. at the time, but they did give me a name of a guy that has been installing them for years in Tucson.I thought he was a bit high so I did it my self. Not to big of a job and if anyone wants to call  me about it let me know.

Hi RIP
I had Quadra/Big Foot install the levelers on my 1990 Prevost in 2000. They are great people to deal with, but I have had problems with the installation. I think they said my bus was the first one they had installed jacks on at the factory. I got the system that uses the central hydraulic pump. They called B&B in Las Vegas for some hints on the actual mounting. My biggest concern is that the jacks do not come straight down, they have an angle. I am worried that they may lean and break a weld. They had remounted them in a different spot on the back of the bus a few years back, because the jacks had an extreme angle and the welds did break. In the front the jack pads are about 3 inches lower than anything else and I have had them bottom out numerous times. When I am stopped for the night I pretty much use the air bags to level the coach and then lower the jacks to the ground, just enough to keep everything from rocking.

Where did you mount the rear jacks and, most importantly, the front jacks. Do you have any problem with the jacks bottoming out. If possible can you post a picture of where you have the front jacks mounted.

Thanks,
John

Hi Jonh; All my jacks are straight up and down and if I remember right the lowest jack is 7" from the ground when extended. The front jacks are mounted in the wheel wells. If you take off the front tire my jack is welded straight back in the corner. The rears are mounted on the inside of the main frame. If you took off the tag tire the jack is mounted straight in.Im  sure this is clear as mud but I can't take photo's right now.If you want, call me at 602-677-8148 to see if I can help. I'll be in AZ. until spring which is M.S.T.

Thanks Don,
I think I understand what you are saying about the jack locations. I think my front jacks are about 4 inches from the ground, and they are about a foot forward of the front tires. Speedbumps and anything sticking up hits the jack pads before the tires can raise the front of the bus. The front jacks are installed behind the bumper at the rear of the spare tires compartment. Another problem with being in the tire compartment is that they are not very far apart. I think it would be more stable if they were more outward. The rear jacks are attached to the framework that holds the drive and tag axles. The problem with being there is the fact that the air bags are still holding the bus up, rather than the jacks. I like how you have your jacks (as I understand it). This spring I will have to pull the front and tag tires so I can see if I can relocate them.
