Another source of fans is Multi-Wing: http://www.multi-wing.com/ (http://www.multi-wing.com/) They custom-made a 9-blade fan for me to replace my old 6-blade metal thing that looked like it came off a prewar tractor - the new fan moves a lot more air, is quieter, and takes less power to turn it. Not cheap, but well worth it.
