What happens if I overfill the radiator? The level check valve doesn't appear willing to move, and I'm not willing to force it and break something.
I tried to get the level to where the check valve was, but inadvertently filled it to the bottom of the filler cap.
Will the extra just blow out or is it important for me to pump some of the coolant out?
Also, doesn't a standard coolant tester used in automotive world work on the coolant in the bus (the kind with the floating balls)?

The little balls only check the rating on the temperature range you need strips to test the balance of the PH and they also test the temperature ranges
Thanks. Any clue about the spring-loaded pressure vent which is located to the left of the filler cap? It seems inclined to want to drip a bit. Should I be worried? Are replacements and/or rebuild kits available?
I know that I won't go dry quickly drip by drip, but in my experience little drips have a habit of becoming big drips.
It looks like the open end is threaded and I assume I could screw a brass plug in there, but that would sort of defeat the purpose of the thing. I'm much more inclined to have it working properly if at all possible.

That cap should only leak when it's too full. And that's ok. I always fill mine until it's too full and then it always self adjusts/drains.

I fill mine to bottom of filler hole. The button is there to check level in tank without releasing cap; especially important on a hot engine. If coolant comes out when pushing button, level is ok. If no coolant comes out when pushing button, then coolant is low and loss of coolant needs investigation if it is noticeably low. Just like the coolant recovery bottle in a car, except it is a visual indicator.
Problem is that the thing wants to dribble a bit even when the button is not being pressed. I don't know if there is a way to tighten it up or not. Kind of looks like either the spring is a bit weak or the seal inside is worn. Maybe a bit of both. I'll have to check with Luke to see if replacements are available. Even if they are, I'm not sure that there's enough room to rotate the thing to get it off and the new one back on.
