Thought i would start a new thread instead of continuing to take over scotts thread.
There have been some mixed reviews concerning the atwood air command heat pump unit. To anyone that has one please share your experience and thoughts on the subject.
I have installed one of the 15k heat pump non ducted units in the front of my bus. Model 15026. I am fairly pleased with it. Havent really used the heat much but have used the cooling a lot.

We also have twin 15kw heat pump air commands in our coach. Have had zero issues with them in a year of fulltiming now. We use them a ton. They have blown cold air in 107°F ambient temps and blown 90°F heat in ambient temps at 0°F. Very very happy with ours. Extremely happy actually. I love the digital control panels. I love the twin wireless remotes we have in bed with us to control them without getting up. I love the dehumidify feature that really works to dry the air when you don't need cooling...I love how quiet they are. Literally the quietest roof airs I've ever heard...especially the ducted units. I can't recommend them enough.

I am not wasting 400 bucks again mine is joke for cooling, up to about 95 degrees mine does alright not great but ok,the 2000w Onan in the van will start and run it though I like that
The one i am currently looking to replace is for the bedroom which is very well insulated so i think i will go ahead and take my chances. Clifford if you are interested in my Coleman i would be happy to stop by your place on my way home and do the swap, and leave you with some benjamins in your pocket.

I posted this on my BCM Facebook page just the other day before setting off for a trip to the BCI Rally in Thayne, WY where I am now. Be forewarned about the Air Command units.
Not very happy with my Air Command A/C roof units. I drove thru the desert today from Anaheim to Vegas and ran my two air conditioners and they worked great when it was mild outside but when the outside temperature reached 106 degrees they shut down. If you are planning on going anywhere where it will get over 105 degrees outside I recommend you buy a regular RV A/C unit instead of a heat pump unit. These units are for a mild climate but the factory did not tell me that when I called to ask.
I need to buy one more unit to fill 3 holes in my roof but you can bet that I will not buy another Air Command as I frequently go where it is over 106 degrees outside.
Really don't know why your having this problem. Replaced our 15 year old Carrier unit's with two of the heat pumps three years ago. No problems since . Worked fine in temps in the low teens (113- 115) hasn't given any trouble are quite and really seem to cool well. rdw
