Hey all,
Things are going well with our bus, almost ready to put floor back in.
Looking for some help with locating the atec and ddec fuses for MCI MC12.
I think the 40 amp fuse right off the vanner (12v leg) is one of them, but not sure which.
Both need to be disconnected before welding, right?
Any help in tracking these down would be helpful, a buddy of mine is here to do some welding, and we're walking around the bus trying to not blow something up.
I'll take pics to and post them here for future questions.
Thanks.
It will not be a 40 amp fuse I am sure,I don't know about a MCI 12 on my DL they are in the battery box ,5,15 and 15 with another 15 amp for the Allison in the fuse and breaker panel under the drivers window if you are not certain disconnect all the batteries
I would have thought that leaving the batteries connected would provide a low impedance path to ground for any voltages induced by welding.
Most important too is to hook the welder ground lead to the chassis side of any weld site as close as possible to the weld - and shift it for every weld
Any more information on this topic?
Google terms to search for or resources to tap to find my answer?
Got to get a service manual from the late 90s, the one that I have is older.
Mine says disconnect the negative cable from the Vanner also

Yup. I got the vanner disconnection handled, and I think the 12v from battery #1 is either ddec, or atec, perhaps both... not sure. Lose it as it leaves the battery box.
We looked pretty hard day 1, when I posted this, and now it's on the back burner as far as project goes, but it still nags me that I don't know...
