My 110 gal combo sewer tank fills up quick when having multiple users. Any suggestions on which holding tank sensors may be better than others ?
A dip stick?

I usually wait till mine overflow then I dump them. I like to get the maximum capacity I can out of them. Just an idea. ;D
We have the old type with the sensors going through the tank walls. It works fine for fresh water but is not dependable for the black tank. If I am unsure, I look down the hole with a flashlight. We once had a motorhome that worked by having two strips of aluminum tape running down different walls of the tank on the outside. As I remember, it worked well. The only reason we have our current system is that the tanks camp with the sensors already installed. I would not choose it.
My gray tank is white. I just shine a flash light through to see the level. I know when the black tank is ready to dump when the toilet burps when flushed.
On my truck, all tanks are white plastic. I'll have a light above each tank to illuminate the level-can't get anymore reliable than that. Good Luck, TomC
It seems that most sensors don't work like they are suppose to anyway. Mine don't work, but I can tell the level from my white tanks by looking at them.
Also, I have a house toilette which used a lot more water so if we are at a place with no hook ups. We follow the yellow = mellow, brown = down rule
Following TomC's suggestion, I have a 12V Malibu halogen garden floodlight aimed at the right side of the grey tank, and a Momentary-On switch for it near the three dump valve handles on the left side. Flip the switch on, see where the contents is, easy! I could have done the same for the poo tank, but it's next to the access door so I can easily see its level without a light.
Are there any tank level sensors that work 100% reliably all the time, every time?

Has anyone used load cells to "weigh" when the tank is full?
We had a 100 gallon water tank and a 100 gallon grey/black tank......when we ran out of water it was time to fill it up and time to dump the other. :)
We have plastic tanks and have been using a system by Seelevel. The sensors stick to the outside of the tank. Been using it for several years and so far so good.
