Can't leave home without it--the Toad I mean. Seems the 28 year old starter solenoid on the toad bit the dust. Click, click, click. Ebay to the resque (spelled wrong because the parts were wrong--twice!). Seems there is an error in the catalog these sellers use as both provided the same wrong part. Too long and one pinion tooth short. Meanwhile the toad blocked a friend's hoist while I sorted things out. Of course I shot myself in the foot when I built the toad with a Morris Minor woody wagon body and a Geo Tracker frame and drive line. I considered changing the starter motor at that time but as a false cost savings I didn't. Never mind my buddies rack, the R&R of the 2 bolt starter took 11 hours. My left wrist, the one I broke at work some years ago is proving the old saw bones right when he said it would bother me as time went on--right now its all I can think about. Wha, wha lets hear a little sympathy here.
Oh well, It is fixed now and we're going camping tomorrow. Whoopee! Jack

Glad you got it, Jack. Sorry about the sore hand - I have recently developed "severe arthritis in your right thumb and your left one is worse"; I sure miss having hands that work. Best wishes for your endeavors in the future.

The doctor was correct, old injuries don't go away. I have had two broken shoulders, and I've got 13 (lucky) pieces of metal in my right leg. Just keep on going and ignore the discomfort, our vehicles just want to be fixed. They don't care about the blood and sweat we drip on them. ;D
As I get older (I'm 61) I appreciate those days I don't hurt quite so bad. Course 15 years of furniture moving could have something to do with it. Luckily, my back is still in good shape. My knees and hips-well-that's another story (too many stairs and heavy carrying). Good Luck, TomC

Sorry Bruce that you have developed Arthritis which I have some myself. BUT how did you develop it in Jacks Thumbs? Just wondering how that happened. ;D
Dave
BR, lmao and no, probably not a S&S designer. I expect I was an orangutan based on the places I had to jamb my arms to get the starter R&R'd. Jack :D
