Empty your air cylinder. That way your bus isn't going anywhere. The emergency brake will hold it.

It wouldn't hurt to keep a set, or two, of wheel chocks stashed for such an occasion.

Check the adjustment 1 st if ok and you have no leaks at the DD-3 chambers your inversion valve could be bad, people have a bad habit of never servicing  a inversion valve for some unknown reason, it comes apart and can be cleaned

If you have ancient air brakes that don't have an emergency brake,  it's probably well worth upgrading.

So i tested it today and indeed when i pull up the parking brake it makes the right sounds but it does not slow or stop the bus from moving.  It rolls down even the slightest incline.

I will empty the air cans next time i park.

You need to have someone that knows how to check your brakes.  They are in need of replacing or adjusting.

Block the wheels to keep the bus from moving, don't get under the bus and have some pull the PV if you don't see movement on the slack adjusters and rods when they pull the PV the inversion valve is not working. If you see movement then your brakes need adjusting or other some other type attention.Did this just start ?

It did just start after getting the clutch redone.  The park brake was working the last run we did from AZ to GA in 2016 summer.

I think it's the inversion valve too.  http://www.mcicoach.com/fyiFromMci/maintMatters/0315.htm (http://www.mcicoach.com/fyiFromMci/maintMatters/0315.htm)

NO, NO, NO, NO, and NO!

You have DD3 brakes, you do not have spring brakes.

That coach is in a dysfunctional condition.

Properly block the wheels until you get it fixed by competent help.

"emptying the air cans"? will accomplish nothing, there are no springs in there to come on.

Inversion valves are a consumable that rarely gets renewed, yet the inversion valve is EVERYTHING for proper parking brake function.

If it has failed so spectacularly, I would just replace it.

Mounted to a bracket on the differential, 6 airlines attached, all of which probably need replacing too.

use the anti-seize of your choice when re-assembling all the air line fittings, the threads, the mating surfaces, and the tricky one, under the fastener, above the mating surface, look where the little beggar will rust... so you can get it apart next time without destroying the air lines.

happy coaching!
