Post by: scanzel on July 26, 2017, 07:48:18 AM
On www.govliquidation.com (http://www.govliquidation.com) there are about 20 new Caterpillar C12 for auction in Ohio. Are these good candidates
for a repower can the hp be boosted up etc. Last time several went in the $5,000 to $10,000 range. ;D ;D

The C-12 is a million mile plus engine in a truck with very few problems, bus people don't care for 1 and killed the engine because the peak torque is @1600 rpm and they lug it to death trying to squeeze better fuel mileage from the C-12.

Run the serial numbers through Cat the later ones were set at 445 hp @ 1600 rpm and the peak torque was supposedly 1650 ft @ 1200 rpms that would make a bus haul @$#, I never ran across one of those yet
