I've just replaced two circular convex mirrors with offset mounts because they were eroded and they weren't that helpful because of that. I replaced them with rectangular convex mirrors.
I still have west coast mirrors but I'm feeling they're not as useful as they could be. Eventually i might replace them with rectangular flat mirrors aiming straight back and add a second convex mirror aiming down.
I still have the busboy student mirrors. I might be replacing them (again eroded) with Hawkeye mirrors (as long as they have tunnel mounts).

My favorite mirror system is on the ceiling in the bedroom... :P (Oh to be young again)
Ramco (I think) makes a set of mirrors that enable me to see nearly everything...even behind me. they are adjustable and have both close up on the top, and distance on the bottom. When finished, they shine beautifully.
They are expensive, but it's a one time expense...and with the radiator scoops, I'll never have a need for a camera.
I got real lucky on my mirrors. There isn't too much choice for RTS buses, so you have to stick to the factory setup. My luck was I found a right side remote control mirror, brackets, and the remote control toggle switch for a song on eBay. Love it-- I can aim the right mirror down to clear curbs and low cars, and raise it back up for the highway. No more getting in and out of the bus half a dozen times to tweek the mirror!

ck e-bay you can get a combo set for under 300 with flat adjustable plate on top and convex on bottom individually adjustable. Or take your mirror to glass shop and have new mirror cut. Last one I did was under 10$ FWIW Bob Ramco is a good brand.

I am looking at various eBay options. I'm impressed by the lower mirror I bought. I'm not convinced the big west coast mirrors are so great though. I feel at 16 inches high, that's 8 inches too high. I could use two 8x8 square on each side more profitably.

Age old problem, rusted mirror mounts on school buses...
West coast mirrors are lovely, lots of stuff to see, if you can get them well adjusted...
The newer style school bus mirrors around here are horrible things that stick WAY out from the body, they must rip 'em off regularly.
Also, you are keeping the fender mount cross over mirror?
Real handy for swinging the nose within an inch of something when negotiating tight spaces!

Rusted mounts are a non issue... just spray them with wd40 and attack them with a wrench!
The busboy mirrors are nice enough but the Hawkeye mirrors are better. Eventually I'll replace my crossview mirrors with Hawkeye. Those are 8 inch diameter convex mirrors.
The west coast mirrors are too long. Where my seat is, I have difficulty seeing my new convex mirrors. Seeing the top of the west coast is a challenge too. For all it's benefits, this bus has lousy driver visibility.
The idea is to use my two 6x8 bottom mirrors, replace the west coast with an 8x8 and put an extra mirror at the top aimed slightly down to show the back tyre.
