Clifford Da wife wants to know which way is better to avoid Phx traffic on good roads.
Will be going to Evansville, IN and up to MI to see her sister in August then Back down to the rally. ;D
#1)Our usual way to Quartszite, then down 95> I-10E > 85South > I-8E then back to I-10E, is better than I-10E thru Phx.
OR
#2) is 95 South>to Yuma > I-8E> I-10E, be better IYHO
Want to avoid the traffic as much as possible and will be going back to 40 to go thru OK and stop and see Don & Yoko.
Dave
Dave, I lived in Phoenix many years. I-10 in Phoenix is insane anytime during the week especially rush hour. If you can hit it on a weekend you're good to go.

Hi Dave, I-40 has major work and improvements, from the Dam to flagstaff, sometimes down to one lane, but a lot of fixing going on, tom...
Dave, 85 is the best route to by pass Phoenix, some times we will take the 101 and 202 then 60 into New Mexico but there are some grades in the Globe and Miami area
Clifford thank you we will do 85 then.....
Tommy as much as we would like to come visiting you , Van, & Gary we will be running down the hill not up. Then around Phoenix and back to 10 then up to 40 stop at Don Smiths in OK, and then up to Doreen's sister's place in Grayling MI for a few weeks. Then down to the Evansville Rally and NRG that Bob G set up for a week and then taking time to run home and relax on the way see sites stay wherever. haven't been out since end of march get the stay at home blues.
Giving the Bus some new bump stops, an oil change and filters, adjust the slacks, some stuff on the inside hanging Lorna's pictures after we framed them, a few more leds lights in closet etc..... ;D
Dave
Dave, I've spent a ton of time in Grayling at Camp Au Sable. Spent a lot of time on the river too. Jealous that you'll be up there!

I'm from PHX area, avoid at all costs! Go North from Quartsite to I
40 at Kingman and then east on I40. Even with the construction west of Flagstaff it will be shorter, safer, and easier!
Scott Never been there but she works up at the mill for 6 months when weather is good. She has lived there for 40 years. We always saw everyone at family things in Boston actually Marshfield MA and never got to MI. Her daughter is in Lancing MI and we will go by there also. Both have some acreage and got to see our Grand nieces and nephews we haven't met yet. Do some fishing may there also.

Thanks but will go south around it. We are in no hurry (retired) but don't like the high climbs as in Flagstaff, (6V-71N running N-60'sand 644 Allison). ;D
I 17 has been closed down 3 times in the last 2 weeks there always seems to be fires and wrecks in I 17 lately. The 101 is not bad if you go that way call us we will probably be in Scottsdale at that time and you can stop and spend the night with us
Yes there is that 7,000 elevation. I10 east to 85 south to Gila Bend, pick up I8 east to I10 will be easier on your 6-71
I love the drive from Flag down to PHX. Beautiful country. Going in the other direction is beautiful too, but for some reason it takes a bit longer. ;)
Is it the same scenery Gary just higher ;D
When are you leaving on your trip Dave? Lower Az. is getting hot and gonna get hotter! :)
