Can anyone tell me where I can get this clamp by Friday? We have to hit the road asap and this hot side turbo exhaust joint clamp just blew on me. Donaldson: p206605
Napa can't get it for me. SS in San Antonio isn't helping at all (front desk guy Danny is a joke and never ever wants to help me, and after hey trashed my coach yesterday I have no desire to do business with them). I need to literally overnight one of these.

Call Luke B 888-262-2434
I just did a Google search for that part and found lots of sources. They even have it on Amazon. Maybe you can see if one of them is close to you or willing to overnight it.
Hmm?
Hope ya have a better day
Floyd
Lin I contacted the amazon sources and they are saying soonest arrival is June 13-16. We have to leave June 10 for me to make it to my next contract in time in Indiana. Thanks Floyd! Me too! Luke has overnighted a bearing for me before so I might jump on that idea Dave! Thanks!

Check truck places that are local, it does not have to be a Donaldson part. The size is 4 1/2 " or 114 mm V band clamp.
Thanks Walter. It's the 5.25" one actually and I finally squeeze SS to find one for me in their stock. Danny at the front desk has never been helpful. He has told me they don't carry exhaust clamps, he told me they don't carry Detroit powercool, he told me they don't carry 40 wt oil. All bunk. Specifically asked for someone else this time and viola they have three clamps in stock. Who knew!? Sigh.

I've talked with Kenny in sales a time or 2 and he's always got what I needed. Some of these parts guys act like they're doing you a favor instead of working for you.
Scott, is it this side of the turbo that I have my finger on?
Kenny is the one who finally helped me. He's a nice guy. Brian the other side of the hot side. Here's a photo with an arrow pointing to the location of the clamp I blew. I replaced it today and my exhaust is all back together now.

Scott -
Now you know to ask for Kenny, not Danny.
Actually, maybe you should let that particular S&S branch's General Manager about your treatment by Danny vs Kenny. Written, of course, and ask that your complaint letter be placed in his personnel file.
Safe Travels to your next gig!
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
RJ, you can be sure I lodged a complaint yesterday. I told the shop foreman in the service department and I mentioned to Kenny with the two secretary's right there listening how I'm disappointed that because of Danny's lack of interest in helping me I've had to make the drive to and from SS which is 30 minutes, several times because of Danny's misinformation. They seemed to take it pretty seriously. I was polite but very clear.

Found out with my issue with my coach (blower seals) Tommy (service manager) is a good one also. Old 2 stroke cat in back that worked on mine (Allen) was a wealth of knowledge and happy to share. Worked there for over 45 years. He and his brother are the only 2 stroke guys left there. Think he said his brother had been there 40.
I didn't get to meet Allen but wish I had. But tommy was good to work with for sure.

Was the 206605 number incorrect, that was listed as 4 1/2"? It might be good to consider keeping a spare of the 5 1/4" size. I assume that it was spot welds that let go on it when it failed. Just like belts, there are certain parts that do not cost much, but can shut you down until you get them.
No I listed the wrong part number there. That's for a smaller clamp. The correct number is P210110.
For future reference, here's the entire cross reference sheet for this turbo vband clamp in case anyone ever needs one in the future:

Scott if I were you I'd get a set of new clamps for all of them and replace them at the next convenient down time. Then put all your old ones in the spare parts box.
(the one with the spare belts and hoses)
;D BK ;D
See, this is why I'm a Fulltimer. Because if I had a house....my basement would be full of spare bus parts, and my yard would be full of spare buses

We use to be but when DW broke her ankle she could not climb in and out of the Bus so we pulled off. We live and work on a ranch in Roseville and it is hard not to have a lot of Buses here but it is not our ranch. We are out about 6 to 7 months now but having problems with her knees now because of ankle. Always something ya know. We hate getting old, LOL.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!
Spare buses work if you set a two spare bus limit! ;D
Trouble with spare buses, and a basement full of parts...
The coach won't break down where your spares are stocked...
So you get forced to buy something on the road anyway...
Visa, Mastercard, American Express?
happy coaching!
