Hello. Its been a while and lots of water over the dam. The bus is running well. Changing the tire replacement policy from wholesale at 7 years to : two steers yearly until all 8 are done then a year off and start over... Too many friends with front tire blowouts this year....
Travel plans for the year: Heading west to texas; harlingen then dallas then west to phoenix . Then north to Denver and sheridan wy ,east to michigan then south.again... dont know the exact route after texas depends on the weather and such.
Old bus or new bus. ?? Cant afford newer (72mci7 the challenger) however we upgraded to a cummins L10 with allison B400R.. running 7.5 average mpg.. and we have some spare parts if required...
Steam trains and museums when we can...
Anyone on route interested let us know..
Happy bussin..
Mike lutestanski.
Will not get up my way but have a great trip. Have you checked on Harvest Host? Great way to park free at some of the places you want to see.
Depending on your route as you are heading back to the east, there is a good train museum in Omaha. There was another museum with some good older train cars, tanks and jets out towards Granbury, TX on Hwy 377, but it's been twenty years since I've been out that way so I do not know if it's still there.
Mike,
There's a good museum in Golden, Colorado you need to check out, and make sure you don't miss Kenefick park near Omaha. They're rebuilding the parking lot so make sure you park your coach somewhere and drive only your toad to Kenefick. It's a bit of a hike to the locomotives but well worth it !

Mike, We are almost neighbors and will be heading out from Dade City (Tampa area) within the next few days following a similar path to you with addition of Oregon and Washington. Maybe we will cross paths.
California State train museum at Sacramento, CA
It is in Old Sacramento and would be able to park Bus in West Sacramento across river and drive toad to it or take Public bus across river. The Museum has just been added to the Smithsonian registry this week. It has Southern Pacific train number one as well as others. You can even take an old train ride down the river and back about 2 hours. Lots of fun things to do in the surrounding area.

Need I even have to mention stopping in Cheyenne, Wy to see the 4014? I watched them move the loco over the parking lot. Truly amazing that it moved so easily after sitting for over 50 years. That effort goes to the Fairgrounds Train Museum guys for greasing the bearings regularly.
Also ride the Pikes Peak cog railway. Good Luck, TomC
