Title: How Much Does it Weigh

I was wondering the approximate weight of the 6V92 with automatic transmission combination on my 1984 MC-9.

Dry weight on the 6v92 is 2020 lbs fan to bell housing on a 740 it is 840 lbs without a retarder so figure 3000 lbs that is a good round number with the cradle

Leave it to the walking bus encyclopedia....cliff, do you know the approximate thickness of the grease buildup on my 8v92 manufactured in 2002?

This is why the 6V-92TA was loved by so many in the trucking industry-it was lite weight, but heavy duty. Getting 350hp and 1,000lb/ft torque will get many jobs done.
Course now, Cummins has the 8.9 liter ISL that puts out 380hp and 1,100lb/ft torque for trucks and 450hp and 1,250lb/ft torque for RV's and only weighs 1650lbs (1,800lbs with air to air intercooler). Good Luck, TomC
