Anyone know what this was? It's been disconnected. Had a corrugated hose that went from it to nowhere:

The flexible pipe looks like a valve cover breather tube. The hose has to be untangled to see what it does, if anything.

That was part of the factory bathroom system, connected to the holding tank for ventilation

Interesting. Even tho it's on the opposite side of the bus from the original holding tank location? Thanks Derrick....I can remove it now in peace :) Geoff, that tangled zip tied wire mess has now been untangled, determined, and organized as of today.

Scott I think Derrick is correct!
Many MCI's holding tanks used to be plumbed to the air breather to create a suction and draw fumes out off the bathroom when the bus was running!

Got me thinking...light bulb! You ever get "that odor" while under way? Maybe, just maybe...

The valve cover breathers have positive air pressure, they don't create a vacuum. I would think suction would be from the air intake. Maybe that is what that wrapped up rubber hose was for --hooked up to a fitting before the air filter for creating vacuum in the cannister with the flex pipe running between the cannister and the restroom/holding tank.

So if, hypothetically, I hooked up my black tank vent to my air intake, would it be like methane injection?

LOL. Too funny!
See, once again the discussion has reverted to matters scatological or flatulant. I wonder what a shrink would think of us?

Probably think we had a crappy mindset :o
Very clever of MCI, but I wonder what would have happened if the holding tank was filled to overflowing levels? :P

A poonami, surging down between the seats until it engulfs the hapless driver. (Maybe that's what happened to the Greyhound bus that ended up in the desert?)

If memory serves correctly it wasn't actually plumbed into the holding tank, but rather it was plumbed in at the top of the "poop shoot".

If memory serves me correctly it was a housing around the actual poop tank it went to!
;D BK ;D
Just wonder it that is why so many buses run shitty?

Not likely, you have always shared every broken part and problem with us. You even backed into a septic tank for our entertainment. A holding tank vent pipe post is right in line. ;)
You have a mind like a steel trap...I kind of wish it would rust a little
