Title: Solar Eclipse Bus Rally...
Post by: doghouse on May 14, 2017, 07:41:47 PM
If you are unaware, we are having a solar eclipse crossing the US on Aug 21, 2017.Vonore Tn is in the path for good viewing. I have put together a little gathering at a camp site in Vonore.  Its called Toqua campgrounds. They are full hook ups at $40 per night. We are arriving Sunday, and staying till Tuesday or Wednesday. The eclipse is on Monday around 2pm. It is on Tellico lake with the chilhowee mountains in the back ground. Its about 3 miles from historical fort London fort. The fort is free to tour. With a lot of hiking trails. If anyone is interested you can call Toqua campgrounds at (423) 884 3317 and reserve a spot. Ask to reserve for the solar eclipse bus rally. There is only about 6 spots left.

The totality path goes over some BLM, national forest land in Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Missouri, and Nebraska. I will be in one of those states boondocking. Ideally just north west of Idaho Falls on some peak that will require me to climb in the Sawtooth mountains. Maybe I need to bag Borah Peak this summer.
