I've been thinking of re-installing my baggage door locks and adding a very small compressor and using the original valve by the driver's leg.
Any thoughts?
I know lots of folks add electric... but I'm trying to be really cheap.
replacing the activating valve with something without a spring in it that forces locking with low air would be an advantage for many?

That's what I have. I bought a couple small compressors from the guy who makes the Brake Buddy toad braking system. I have one mounted in the bay, connected to the air lines and hooked to a switch on the dash. I use the standard button on the dash for locking and unlocking. It auto locks when you put the bus in gear. I made some metal clips that I can hook over the air cylinder ram to keep them from locking. I typically leave them this way, but sometimes I want to lock them and it's a simple task to remove the clips.
