Title: Wiper stuff
Post by: Zephod on May 06, 2017, 08:11:33 PM
Well, ages ago, a mechanic from work condemned my whole wiper system on the right hand side of my bus. Sure... the pivot was definitely seized. The motor he declared as dead that I dumped on the sandy ground to be rained on for the next couple of months actually worked when I had a wild hair and tested it. The switch I don't know about yet as I've been using a 9ah gel battery for my testing.

The pivot was a pain in the arse. The original was a funky design Carpenter had dreamed up. As they're no longer in business I got a $40 pivot from eBay and modified it. Then I built a special mount for it.

I need to do some fine tuning but... it works.

Congrats.  That sounds like it was a lot more fiddly than it had to be but it's good you got it working!

Well, after a few adjustments, my wiper works on high, low and park. The mount I made isn't quite right because the pivot rod isn't quite horizontal but I'm not going to sweat over it. It's not far enough out to cause problems.

The switch wiring I'm going to work on whenever. I'm pretty sure I've muddled the wires but since they're red, black and white, it shouldn't be hard to work it out.
