Richard: I sent you an email but it was returned so I will pose my question here.
Almost every time that I type a reply and hit post I get the message at the top of the screen that there is a new posting since I started typing. If I go back and check there is usually no new posting on the thread I have replied too and my reply has been entered. At other times, there is a new posting and my reply disappears into cyberspace. Is this a built in function of this board?
Hi Stan,
Sorry your having troubles!
Do you have high speed connection or Dial up? Dial up will sometimes be so slow that your reply will get distorted during upload.
Also, What Browser are you running? Internet explorer, ect.
Let me know
Nick-
Stan, that is an existing problem with the board that I have experienced several times also. It is really frustrating to type a long answer and then have it disappear into cyberspace. The new version of the software is supposed to correct that.
Currently, if I see that message, before I hit the Back key, I hit the post key again. Like you, sometimes the new message is to another post, but sometimes I lose a post.
Phil is supposed to update the board software within the next week.
Richard
BTW, my email address is incorrect in my profile and I can not change it without starting over at 0 posts. Phil is going to fix that also.
Have you tried the Instant Messaging on this board? It works great and I talk to several members with it.

Nick: I am on broadband on cable and I run Netscape as a browser.
Richard: I know I could save my reply before I hit post, but that is just too much hassle when I am trying to get through the threads in a hurry where I can offer some help.
