Title: Torque Specs L10 Exhaust Manifold to Turbo
Post by: Melbo on April 14, 2017, 04:54:02 PM
I had an exhaust leak at the connection from the exhaust manifold to the turbo. I have the new gasket and while I was at it I thought I would check the torque on all the exhaust manifold bolts and then when I reinstall the turbo I need to know what that torque should be. I asked at the supply house and they said they sell parts but don't know specs.

Thanks.

35-37 common for a 3/8 bolt (9/16 head) are the manifold 3/8" also?

you might want to check that manifold for warpage.

It is pretty hard to warp the manifolds.  But I use a smooth file to take off the rust and carbon for a smooth surface.  Also, be sure to use new nuts and washers with Neversieze.  Hopefully the studs are in good shape-- removing the studs is a whole new topic.

Thank You for the help.  Yes I got new nuts and they have the flange on them. I will be sure to clean both surfaces as I assemble it.
