Title: Need a 6V92TA ?
Post by: peterbylt on April 12, 2017, 12:15:18 PM
Found this on the Public auction site.

http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/all,fl/auction/view?auc=1828818 (http://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/all,fl/auction/view?auc=1828818)

Comes with test stand and radiator.
Might be fun just to keep around the shop.

If it was an 8V92TA I would probably bid on it.

Is that the right bell housing for an MCI?

Looks like wildbob will get a bargain.  the pipes to the turbo and if the turbo turns are worth the 500.

Plus the radiator.

If you enlarge the photo you can read V730 on the lower control panel.  This must be a dyno setup.  I have doubts about the engine.  There is a starter motor on the floor and the valve cover is loose.

The auction ended at $1295($1500 with tax and premium) and didn't meet the reserve. I dropped out at $800($1000 with tax and premium). Not worth that plus the 1300 mile round trip to pick it up.
