I've been getting an occasional check engine light on my Series 60 DDEC III . Yesterday I checked the code on it and unless I miscounted it is code 53. The list says this code is "Nonvolatile checksum incorrect" which seems to be that the "ECM was unable to read a valid copy of an engine data record (calibration, faults or accumulators)". When I shut off the engine and restart, the check engine light does not come back on. Until the next "occasional" occurs. Is this something I'll be sorry if I keep ignoring?
Hard Headed Ken Send him a PM
Thanks, Bob. Sent him an e-mail, so hope the one on his profile is still good. Not sure how to do a PM...
Clear the code with a Pro/Link it could be inactive,if not then you reprogram the ECM,mine did that and I lost the HP and torque setting when using the cruise control on a DDEC 111 it's now a DDEC IV 505 hp no more 430 to 470 hp setting with the cruise
