Title: 4104 aux. gas tank
Post by: Nel on February 27, 2017, 12:13:24 PM
Anyone use the  gas tank that was mounted for the original ac gas engine in the 4104 as a gas tank for the generator? I think its suppose to be around a 25 gallon tank. I was able to drain some old fuel out of the original fuel line and it I don't think it has any leaks.I would be using it for an old Onan 4k generator that has a fuel pump. Thanks

Yes, we use the 25 gallon aux. Tank for the gen set. Works great... There
is a shut off valve on the outlet line hidden up inside the wheel well. Never used it but there's one there.

We used it to fuel our 12 kw Kohler diesel generator. When it developed a leak, we had a  metal fabrication shop a replacement. They eliminated the 1inch recesses on the ends which provided another three gallons. We also had an aux. fuel pump to transfer fuel to the main tank if it got low.

Thanks, Dan and Chessie for the info, I will give it a shot, also will put an in line filter before the fuel pump.
